Welcome to Littles for Littles.

This project was born out of my own quiet journey of grief and healing. After losing my son, Jack, at the age of 18 in 2020 to SUDEP and my daughter, Sophia, at the age of 23 in 2023 to sepsis, I came to Mayne Island seeking a peaceful place to mend my heart. In that quiet space, I knew I wanted to create something meaningful to honor their lives, a way to turn my love for them into light for other children and families.

Sophia’s Legacy & The Artwork

The illustrations, sketches, and prints featured throughout The Little Shop carry a very special story. They come directly from a 9-page wellness project she created while studying to become a Community Support Worker at Vancouver Island University. 

Sophia had a heart devoted to helping others. Her hand-drawn pages reflect her deep empathy and her focus on whole-person care, emotional well-being, and community connection. Being able to share her artwork with you is one of the ways her legacy of care and kindness continues to bloom.

Every item purchased and every direct contribution goes entirely toward supporting two vital causes that reflect the heart of this mission:

• Mayne Island Early Childhood Society: Planting strong roots for local children by funding early learning, family programs, and essential community resources.
  
  
• BC Children’s Hospital Neurosciences Research: Nurturing groundbreaking pediatric brain research to bring hope, care, and medical breakthroughs to kids across the province.
